I’D RATHER DIE - FEB 23, 2024
From jfarr:
When I was writing “I’D RATHER DIE”, I was experiencing some friendship turbulence in my life. Someone very close to me, and arguably one of my first friends in LA started to drift apart but in a way that just didn’t feel right.
I mean, it’s life. People come and go. But not like this. It still feels so strange that I was very close to someone, and could count on someone at one point in my life. I don’t like to dwell on it, but I guess the whole purpose of this song is to reiterate that in this very moment I would definitely rather die than have to get closer to that person. Because in my eyes, to get closer to them is the same thing as dying. Maybe I am dramatic though haha
I would rather not hang with someone who chooses to trade up friends for social clout. Couldn’t be me.
Kickstarting 2024, jfarr is set to release “I’D RATHER DIE” on February 23rd. The first single from his upcoming EP “IT JUST TAKES TIME.”. A three track project. This is the follow up project from his last release “NOT TOO FAST,” which was released in October of 2023.

“I've spent most of my life learning to better understand myself, and I just want to write songs that explain each step of the way. I think it's so cool how I can compile all these complex emotions and thoughts into one final song that you will end up listening to in whatever situation you find my music fits. It goes to show how important it is for me to express myself to the best of my ability. So you can understand clearly what I'm talking about. I hope you get the message."
