When I wrote this one, I knew it was special. From the beginning of the session the phrase" “High n Dry” was on my mind the entire time. For this project in particular I noticed a lot of my inspiration was coming from music that I grew up with, and music that influences my production in the current moment. Early 2000’s boy band and R&B. I wanted to create this hybrid track that has modern production, but tying it all together with familiar elements from those eras.

When I was writing the lyrics, it was all pulled from this situation I had a bit ago. Where this person I was seeing was so unusually cruel with communication. She would play this game of reeling me in and then pushing me out when it was convenient for her. I mean, I feel like we all can relate to that to be honest. It’s like we were in a relationship, and then not in a relationship, and it would flip flop between that for what felt like forever. The only issue is I actually kinda liked it. I know it’s toxic, but you live and you learn.
